The Honourable Senator Roche called the attention of the Senate to the urgent need to consider the implications of a missile defence system for Canada's policies on keeping space free of all weapons and, in this context, to promote a cooperative and forward-minded approach to international security in the light of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
